Changing Seasons
I’m reminded again of my childhood as the leaves start changing. I completely took autumn in New England for granted when I was growing up. Who knew picking apples at your local orchard wasn’t a thing everywhere? I had no idea. So it’s exciting to be back experiencing an early bit of New England fall.
The smell of fall—burning leaves, crisp fresh air and of course, pumpkin spice—is clear each morning as the sun rises later and later and the air gets cooler and cooler. I don't think we will see too much color before we head west, but we started to see a lot more color in the treetops driving the Franconia Parkway last week.
New England is known for its spectacular fall colors. The variety of deciduous trees like elms, oaks, maples, and birches mixed with just the right amount of evergreens makes the tree covered mountains a mix of reds, orange, yellows, and greens.
I'm bummed to miss the show, but I'm glad to leave the cool temps behind! Next stop: Sedona, Arizona!
